Highland Park Bodyworks
is located in beautiful Highland Park in Rochester, NY where we have created a happy place to practice Pilates and Flow Yoga in a non-competitive environment that encourages friendship, health, healing, and fitness.
You'll find excellent instruction in both Pilates and Flow Yoga, two movement disciplines that connect mind & body to balance strength & flexibility. A thoughtful approach to exercise means that you'll reap the benefits sooner and feel better with less effort. You'll be invigorated mentally and physically.
We are passionate about sharing Pilates and Flow Yoga, two amazing forms of exercise, with the community. Because we know how challenging it can be to find time for fitness after a taxing day at work or caring for others, we offer lots of support and plenty of options for finding the path that works for you and your life. We hope that our enthusiasm and warm environment help you have a healthier body and mind for a lifetime.
The studio exercise space is over 2000 sf with its own separate entrance off the parking lot at the back of the Cornell Cooperative Extension at 249 Highland Ave, Rochester, NY 14620. This location offers easy access, plenty of parking and, of course, a lovely setting any time of year.
Inside the studio you will find a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. A double glassed entry and skylights provide plenty of natural light. A wall of mirrors greets you in the main studio space and allows you to watch your alignment during class. We have smaller rooms that have an on-site massage therapist and a Certified Acupuncturist.
For those preferring one-on-one work with a teacher, there is a Balanced Body Tower Reformer Combo Unit and a Cadillac Reformer Combo Unit in a separate room to limit distractions. There are also two Balanced Body Pilates Chairs. With two sets of apparatus it is easy to do a semi-private sessions with relatives, friends or a person you meet at the studio.
We have trampolines available for our clients’ use to warm up before their session or as a cool down afterward. Please bring Indoor-Only shoes to wear when using the cardio since the studio is a shoeless environment.
The building contains several restrooms available for our clients’ use. Because we maintain a shoeless policy in the studio for cleanliness, we provide crocheted booties for you to wear to the rest room. (Booties are washed after every use.)
We always have a few tea choices and essential oils (all safe to add a drop to water for flavor) - so you can arrive early or linger a bit after your session in our seating area.
Walking paths next to the studio lead you to the south end of the park and The Veteran’s Memorial. Crossing the lilac crosswalk at Highland Avenue takes you north where you’ll find a lovely and invigorating walk up to the reservoir. Spring brings a burst of blooms, lovely scents, and the Lilac Festival to our doorstep in the month of May.
We hope you will take advantage of this lovely Rochester park before or after your visit to the studio.
