I have been practicing Pilates for the last 12 years and have been teaching Pilates for 8 years. Throughout my teaching career I have had the pleasure of teaching at several studios in the northeast as well as Hawaii.
I enjoy teaching Pilates mat work and apparatus to all types of individuals: men, women, kids, athletes, those who are recovering from an injury, and people of all body types and various ages. By focusing on building core strength and overall body awareness, I strive to help people gain total body flexibility, leanness, and confidence in general with their Piltes practice.

_Moving to music has always been a passion of mine.  I started dancing and performing "the basics" at age six - ballet, tap, and jazz.  Other forms of dance followed in years after, including pointe, lyrical, & hula.  In the dance realm over the past decade, contemporary has been my focus, performing with Park Avenue Dance Company, Pointes of Faith, and Hallmark Danceworks.  I performed at a Hobart & William Smith Faculty Concert and Mulberry Street Theatre in New York City.  I joined the fitness industry starting in the 1980's, teaching adult Interval and Strength Training classes, and Kids in Action for children.  I enjoy taking Pilates, Movement, and kickboxing classes to round out my overall body conditioning.
I found a perfect combination for my next exploration in movement with Zumba Fitness!  Join me, Anna (Banana) for a fun, physically challenging class in a non-competitive atmosphere!!

Be here now. This is what Yoga teaches me. When I found Yoga I was stuck between the past and the Future. I beleive that when we  are not in our present moment we loose ourselves. Yoga helps me to stay present on and off the mat. When I am in the moment, my life feels grounded, my mind is calm and I am growing  in strength and spirit. I love that Yoga is a life long practice and every practice teaches something new about myself and the world. When I discover new strengths on the mat I discover new strengths in myself and possibilities become endless! I feel blessed  to be on this extrondinary path and I teach Yoga because I am greatful for the gift I have been given. To me it makes sence to share this joy. My intention is to  inspire others to let go of expections, let go of the judgments and just breathe.  In my class we will laugh, grow and challenge ourselves though mind, body and spirit! Be still, be true, be you.

I have been practicing Yoga for about 4 years now, and it has taught me so much about myself, who I want to be and the world we live in. Mostly, Yoga has brought calmness to my life and has taught me how to deal with the storms that can surround your everyday life. In yoga you learn to find your inner strength and peace in a pose that can set your body on fire. I have found that finding peace on my mat has made it easier for me to find it off the mat as well. In figuring this out for myself I decided that teaching Yoga and sharing what I have learned was the right path for me to be on. I cannot think of a better way to come together than through Yoga. I know how I feel after practicing and my intention is to have my students walk away feeling stronger, calmer and rejuvenated.

I was a Registered Nurse for over forty years, specializing in Diabetes Education and patient empowerment.

I attempt to see the perfect spirits inhabiting the imperfect bodies of myself and my clients/ patients and acknowledge and honor our connections.

I’ve always believed if we can find and embrace our inner source strength, we will discover that we already have all of the answers we need to live a healthy, joyful and satisfying life.

My current practice has been evolving since 1984 when I graduated the Swedish Institute of Massage in NYC. Shortly after receiving my license I was fortunate to meet and apprentice with Trion Poppa L Ac who was combining many forms of bodywork, movement and acupuncture to treat professional dancers in NYC.

I learned the importance of basics like lengthening the muscles, opening the joints and releasing the flow of energy. Those three principles have persisted as a foundation in my treatment of pain or discomfort in patients since.
